Before I started working at CSU Long Beach (CSULB), I was interested in educational technology. I found it fascinating how technology could affect a persons ability to use and even learn. As a professional web developer, I found that my interest in web accessibility further lead me toward the path of educational technology.
In the Fall of 2004, I took my desire to learn more about educational technology and started working toward my Masters of Art degree in Educational Technology at CSULB. My goal has always been to learn more about the field and how it relates to my career as a professional web developer in a higher education or corporate environment.
As I progressed through the different courses, I have written reflections on each of the courses I have taken as well as provided artifacts that reflect my growth in each course. Each of the artifacts has a description of the assignment as well as the expected student learning outcomes. The reflections are a statement about what I feel I got out of the class and why I selected the artifacts that I selected.
In addition, please feel free to review the professional and technology sections. These sections help describe who I am as a professional as well as an individual.
I hope you find this portfolio to be a statement about my journey as I engaged in the College of Education motto of “Teaching for Life-long learning, professional growth, social responsibility”.
